Soil Health – Human Tilth: Exploring The Microbiome
Greater Seacoast Permaculture Group
Venue: Saint George’s Episcopal Church, 1 Park Court, Durham, NH
Date: Thursday, February 5, 2015
Time: 6 – 8 PM

Learn about the astounding similarities between soil health and human health. We will explore the human biome and its correlation to soil micro-biota. We will delve into the intersection between human health and agricultural practices that benefit our common soil as much as our personal health. Topics to be reviewed include presenting soil organisms, nutrient locking, DNA transfer from soil biota into the human biome – the good and bad scenarios. We will also discuss how nutrient dense food cannot come from depleted soils and will review agricultural practices that improve soil health and its ramifications.
