Harvesting Knowledge Workshop Series
This is a series of workshops that are designed to connect people to the heart of the local food system by showcasing the knowledge, expertise, and unique stories of our region’s farmers and food producers. These workshops provide a platform for producers to share what they want the community to know about their work—whether that’s how food is grown, harvested, and prepared or the behind-the-scenes processes that make their operations unique.
Workshops can take many forms—hands-on activities, demonstrations, farm tours, or educational talks—tailored to what producers wish to share. Whether participants are learning to make cheese, improving their soil health knowledge, or hearing the history of a family farm, these workshops foster stronger connections between producers and the community.
Here are some of the workshops we’ve offered in the past:
- Oyster farm tour with harvesting and shucking demonstrations at Fox Point Oysters
- Practical Tips from and Organic Farm to apply to your home garden Pat Peach Farm
- Beekeeping basics at Emery Farm
- Chocolate shop tour and tasting with Enna Chocolate
- Pig farm tour and sausage making demonstration at Short Creek Farm
