The Rye Energy Committee, together with the Rye Public Library is offering a Summer Film Series. The first film, Carbon Nation, will be shown on Thursday, June 21st at 6:30pm. This series is free and open to the public, popcorn will be served!

The Rye Energy Committee is offering a film series in conjunction with the Rye Public Library. The first film is Carbon Nation –  This is an optimistic, solutions-based, non-preachy, non-partisan film that shows how tackling climate change boosts the economy, increases national and energy security and promotes a healthy and clean environment.  Carbon Nation celebrates solutions, inspiration and action in an interesting and entertaining way.

The second film of the series is Consuming Kids – Drawing on the insights of health care professionals, children’s advocates, and industry insiders, the film focuses on the explosive growth of child marketing in the wake of deregulation, showing how youth marketers have used the latest advances in psychology, anthropology, and neuroscience to transform American children into one of the most powerful and profitable consumer demographics in the world, often with no thought to the health of our children.

The final film is Fresh – A movie about modern food production and supply, how messed up it is, the ramifications ofindustrial agriculture and what we need to do to fix it. This movie celebrates the farmers, thinkers and businesspeople across American who are re-inventing our food system.
