Pasta by Hand: A Lesson in Slow Food

Join us in this hands-on workshop hosted by Slow Food Seacoast, and learn how to transform flour and water into fresh pasta. Drawing from her travels in Southern Italy, Debra Kam, will lead you through the steps of mixing and forming pasta by hand, using simple kitchen tools. The pasta shapes we’ll explore include cavatelli, orecchiette, and cappelletti messicani.

Local food advocate Debra Kam is a writer, photographer and cook. She writes about eating locally for her blog, Diary of a Tomato, and is a founding board member of Seacoast Eat Local. While traveling in Italy, she enjoys having pasta every day.
