NOFA-NH Herbal Network
D’Acres Organic Farm & Homestead, 218 Streeter Woods Rd, Dorchester, NH
Sunday, July 8, 2012
10am – 4pm

Presenter: Russ Cohen, Expert Forager & Author of Wild Plants I Have Known…and Eaten

New Hampshire is home to over 100 species of edicble wild plants, many of which are more nutritious and/or flavorful than their cultivated counterparts. Join expert forager, Russ Cohen, on a ramble through D’Acres to learn at least two dozen species of edible wild plants. Pending favorable weather conditions, a number of edible wild mushroom species may be encountered as well. Keys to the identification of each species will be provided, along with information on edible portions, seasons of availability and preparation methods, and guidelines for safe and environmentally responsible foraging. Rain or Shine — please wear weather appropriate clothing, footwear, bug spray and sunscreen.

Cost: $25.00 for the workshop, plus $10.00 (optional) for organic, local lunch provided by D’Acres. Please be sure to specify if you have any dietary needs. NOFA-NH and D’Acres discounts apply.
