Application deadline for this year’s Master Gardener Training has been extended through January. From the UNH Cooperative Extension:
Become a UNH Cooperative Extension Master Gardener
UNH Extension Master Gardeners provide research-based information about home horticulture, pest management, and more to the citizens of New Hampshire. In exchange for all of the volunteer work Master Gardeners perform, UNH Extension provides comprehensive training and materials. Here are some of the things Master Gardeners do:
Answer questions:
– at our phone center
– horticultural events
– county fairs and farmers markets
Provide gardening information:
– through news and social media
– host workshops, tours, classes and clinics in their communities
Help create, manage, and write about:
– school gardens, community gardens, demonstration gardens
Spring Classes begin in February! Mondays from 9:00 to 4:00, February 2 through April 27.

Cost: $250 plus $25 for the optional Master Gardener Handbook
Primary requirement is willingness and availability to volunteer 55 hours. Master Gardener status attained upon completion of training and 55 volunteer hours.
