Roberto Perez, Cuban environmental educator and permaculturist with the Antonio Núñez Jiménez Foundation for Nature and Humanity, will be speaking in Keene on August 19. Roberto’s work was featured in the documentary The Power of Community, detailing how Cuba relocalized their economy and food system after losing access to oil, fertilizers, pesticides and trading partners with the fall of the socialist bloc. Roberto is completing this speaking tour to raise scholarship funds for the 11th International Permaculture Convergence happening in Cuba this November (http://ipc11cuba.com/).
