The Just Label It Campaign — One Week to Go!
We have one week to make our goal of one million comments to the FDA on the labeling GMO (genetically modified organisms) ingredients in our foods petition.
The FDA has given March 27th as the deadline for receiving comments. The Campaign has reached over 950,000 comments so far. That’s right, we are less than 50,000 comments to reach the magic number of one million.
Why is one million a magic number? That is because the FDA has never had so many comments on a petition before and the Just Label It Campaign wants to be the first.
If you are trying to avoid GE (genetically engineered) foods having the foods labeled would be the best way to avoid those foods. As it is we have to know or have a list of all the “hidden” foods that are GE for when we do our shopping. Once labeled, then we can have a choice of what we want to buy, as that is our right.
Go on to www.justlabelit.org to give your comments about this petition. We thank you for all your help especially if you have sent the website on to like-minded friends and family to help the Campaign reach it’s goal. Though this grassroots effort of a web campaign, Just Label It is hoping to reach more comments that the FDA has ever had on a petition. The previous record is 750,000 and we have passed that number two weeks ago!
This is 2012. this is the United States of America. You work for us and we want you to label all GMO foods, thoroughly. Period.
