Learn the basics of soil science: how to enrich your soil to produce healthy, high-yielding plants. This course addresses the basics of composting, crop rotation, green manures, managing nutrients in the garden and weed/insect control. All are welcome, from first-timers to experienced gardeners who want to experiment with new techniques.

Marilyn and Rick Stanley have been running a farm business (certified organic chicken, eggs, vegetables, and berries) for about 10 years. Presented by the Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association, (MOFGA).

Additional materials fee, paid night of class: $5.
