Find Your Holiday Joy at the Winter Farmers’ Market, December 22!

You haven’t procrastinated, you’ve just waited until the perfect time to buy that special gift as well as your holiday meal needs at the Winter Farmers’ Market this weekend! Join us on Saturday, December 22, 10am-2pm, at Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford for a joy-filled experience! To help you with your shopping, we’ve collected some gift ideas to inspire you, as well as a market check list to ensure you don’t miss out on all the fabulous local foods that are now available. Thank-you for supporting your local farmers and artisans, and happy holidays!

Gift Ideas

  • Themed tote bags – the possibilities are endless. How about a soup bag, filled with vegetables, herbs, and dried beans. Or try coffee, tea, and coffee cake for a breakfast theme. A sweet tooth tote could include maple syrup candy, fudge, and chocolate. Your “you don’t have to cook tonight, honey” bag can hold fresh pasta, homemade sauce, and oven baked bread. Top off your distinctive present with a Friend of the Market button, to demonstrate both where you bought your fabulous items and your support of the markets! Purchase the tote bag and button at the information table, and then wander the market to create your unique collection.
  • Check out the books for sale at the Seacoast Eat Local table, including ones on cooking, gardening, preserving, and more. Or perhaps a cheese kit and skeins of yarn for the do-it-yourselfer. If you know someone who is passionate about good food but doesn’t want more stuff, consider making a donation to Seacoast Eat Local on their behalf to support our local food system.
  • Winter Farmers’ Market gift tokens: Delight your friends and family by letting them choose their own delicious gift. Gift tokens are available in denominations of $5, and are a great way to either bolster someone’s interest in local food, or introduce a newbie to the availability of year-round harvest!
