10:30am – 5:30pm

Slow Food UNH is hosting a free viewing of “Changing the Way We Eat” (sponsored by TEDxManhattan). Since the actual conference is in New York, this will be a live-streamed event. There will be lots of delicious food to enhance your viewing experience. It’s not necessary, or expected, for people to attend for the entire day; you may come and goes as you please (just be courteous).

Gary Hirshberg (Chairman of Stonyfield Farm) will be one of the many great speakers presenting. Speakers with various backgrounds in food and farming will share their insights and expertise. We’ll break a few times during the day-long conference—at those times, the webcast will be offline. Guests are encouraged to bring in potluck dishes to share during the scheduled breaks. The time in-between speakers will also allow us to talk and share ideas that may help bolster the sustainable food movement. Ultimately, this event provides the opportunity for us to start conversations on sustainability and for the chance for us to apply “the talks” from professional speakers to our own local food system.

This event is open to the public and we are expecting attendance from students and professors across the Nutrition & EcoGastronomy departments, as well as members of Slow Food Seacoast.
