Farmers’ Market Scavenger Hunt for Kids, August 16 & 18

Due to the enthusiastic response at the first Kids Scavenger Hunt in Dover, Seacoast Eat Local will be holding two more similar events this month. The Kids Scavenger Hunt will be at the Exeter Farmers’ Market on Thursday August 16th, and the Portsmouth Farmers’ Market on Saturday August 18th during market hours. The Portsmouth event is in collaboration with Cooking Matters, a program of Share Our Strength based at the New Hampshire Food Bank.

Children of all ages and their families can enjoy finding a variety of foods and products sold at the market. After the kids have found everything on the scavenger hunt they get the chance to “test” their knowledge with the Mystery Vegetable game – identifying vegetables just by feel! There will also be a chance for kids to draw their favorite fruit or vegetable and win prizes like organic seeds, stickers and pins and other fun goodies.

*The Seacoast Eat Local SNAP/EBT Farmers’ Market Program will be giving $10 of free SNAP tokens to all families with SNAP benefits who complete the Portsmouth Kids Scavenger Hunt on August 18th (no purchase necessary).
