Time to restock your pantry at Seacoast Eat Local’s Winter Farmers’ Market this Saturday, January 26th at the Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford, we’ll be there from 10am to 2pm!
It’s Carpool Day at the Market!
It is both amazing and gratifying to see local food and agriculture growing by leaps and bounds here in the Seacoast — but it’s still important to reach many more people to ensure that all local farms and farmers’ markets can thrive and continue providing our community with wholesome, sustainably raised foods. Word of mouth plays a huge role in gathering folks to the local food movement, and is an important way you can help support farmers. So feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested. Go ahead and brag to your coworkers, cousins, and compadres about the great food you buy from local farms!
As an added incentive, we’ve declared a Carpool Day for this Saturday’s market! We’ll be giving away a $5 token to the driver of each carpool, which we’re defining as at least 3 people coming from 2 or more different households. Just come to the information booth, and tell us “We carpooled!” You’ll receive both the token and a big thank-you for doing your part with the farmers’ market AND the environment!
Market Shuttle for Free and Easy Additional Parking
In addition, a free shuttle van will run in a continuous loop throughout the duration of the market; you can carpool to the shuttle stop at Salmon Falls Stoneware at 75 Oak Street in Dover (the generous host to our shuttle parking location) and still receive the $5 token for carpooling. Arrive and leave on your own schedule, with easy parking and drop off for you and your shopping bags! Map >

Use SNAP/EBT at the Market
All vendors at the Winter Farmers’ Markets now accept SNAP/EBT! At the market, SNAP recipients can choose how much they would like to spend that day on food purchases. A market staff member will swipe their EBT card for that amount. The customer is then given wooden tokens, which are used just like cash, and can be used to buy food at approved vendors at the market. Learn more about shopping with SNAP >
This program stimulates responsible use of the federal SNAP program in a way that promotes local sustainable agriculture, improves community health and nutrition, and boosts economic development through family farms. Support for this program is provided by the Thomas W. Haas Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
