We bought the farm in 1959 and in the process of moving in we managed to to get a bureau stuck part way going upstairs and had to cut a leg off so we could get it to the 2nd floor. The name comes from the shape of the house, a saltbox, which was built in 1725. As the crow flies we are about 1 mile from Great Bay and in 2005 we placed 30 acres in a conservation easement to protect it from future development.
