Charlotte’s Post: 5 Market Meals

Here is a challenge for all you farmers market goers. Make the market your one stop shop the next time you go! Shop the vendors and be creative, making a dinner out of local, fresh ingredients. Note that I have added some of the many farmers from Seacoast Eat Local Markets that offer these products.

  • Fresh eggs (White Cedar Farm)
  • Veggies of your choice onions, spinach or kale, dried basil, etc. (Two Farmers Farm)
  • Cheese please cheddar, goat, etc. (Brookford Farm)
  • Home fries (Heron Pond Farm)

Sweet Sausage Chili

  • Beans of your choice (Baer’s Best Beans)
  • Onion (Two Farmers Farm)
  • Sausage (Top of the Hill Farm)
  • Tomatoes season dependent)
  • Mushrooms (New Hampshire Mushroom Company)
  • Dried Oregano (Our Place Farm)

  • or cooked carrots (Meadow’s Mirth)

Carbohydrate Load

  • Pasta galore- pick your favorite
  • Sauce: Make your own veggie filled sauce full of your favorites like Mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, herbs etc. or purchase an already made sauce with your pasta (Valicenti Pasta)

Stir Fry

Pick your favorite veggies and create a veggie based stir fry

Want more? Add your choice of meat:

  • Chicken, red meat, etc. (Kellie Brook Farm)

Remember that the market offers several specialty products that can help flavor your dishes even more! You can find a selection of vinegars, herbs, oils, and sweeteners (jam, honey, maple syrup) at the market. Enjoy!

Be well,
