Earth Day Volunteer Garden Clean-up Day at Strawbery Banke, April 21

Earth Day Volunteer Garden Clean-up Day at Strawbery Banke!
Strawbery Banke Museum, Portsmouth, NH
Saturday, April 21, 2012 (Raindate: Sunday, April 22nd)
8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., followed by a potluck lunch

A treasured annual tradition that helps Strawbery Banke, sustainable Portsmouth and the planet — Earth Day Volunteer Clean-up Day is your chance to join us as we help the Museum prepare for the 2012 season. With the weather springing a headstart on the growing season, our historic landscape and gardens will be ready for TLC before schoolchildren, families and guests arrive. Starbucks is providing the morning coffee. Flatbread Company is supplying pizza.

Join the community spirit and celebrate Earth Day by bringing a slow food/local food potluck dish to share at lunch. Slow Food Seacoast will be running a seed swap and giving away free heirloom seeds that have strong regional ties.

Please bring your favorite gardening gloves and tools and plan to arrive at the Visitors Center at 8:30 am for refreshments. Work assignments at 9.

To volunteer for the day, please RSVP by April 18 to Jon Brown by email: volunteers@strawberybanke.org Also let him know if you plan to bring a potluck dish.
