Packing Local Lunches 101

Just in time for National Farm to School month, the latest issue of Vermont’s Local Banquet describes how to cut down on costs, time and energy put into packing your children’s lunch, and still include local food. The five simple steps work just as well for brown bagging it to the office as well as to school:

1. Keep it simple.

2. Cut extra veggies when preparing other meals.

3. Use the natural sweetness of local fruit to your advantage.

4. Take your children to a farm.

5. Keep it colorful!
