Learn the Business of Farming, Wherever You Are!

Beginning in Fall 2011, New Entry will offer its Farm Business Planning Course online. The course was created to engage interested students who may experience barriers to attending
weekly classroom sessions in Lowell, MA. The online course will provide students with a fully-integrated learning experience which mirrors the learning objectives of the classroom course while taking advantage of innovative technologies. Like the classroom course, the online version will be offered in October and in January. Unlike the classroom version, the distance learning course spans 9 weeks and allows students the flexibility to independently complete course modules.

The Fall 2011 Online Farm Business Planning Course will begin on October 1st and run through December 3rd. The Winter 2012 course will run from January 7th to March 3rd.  Like the in-person class, the course will cover all aspects of planning for the long-term financial success of your farm business. View the Course Syllabus and requirements of the course on their website.

The course fee is $500 with tuition assistance available to students demonstrating financial need. Click here to download an Farm Business Online Course Application. Applications for Fall 2011 are due by September 16th; winter applications are due by December 19th. You can also apply for a partial tuition scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and cover up to 80% of the course fee. Click here to download a Tuition Scholarship Application. This form must be received no later than 10 days prior to the start of class in order to qualify.
