Here Comes “Growing Food in the City”

“Growing Food in the City”, an upcoming series of events to support food production in Portland, is the result of Portland Maine Permaculture / The Resilience Hub teaming up with a bunch of their local friends, agencies and NGOs. From Portland Maine Permaculture / The Resilience Hub:

Time and time again we get requests from city dwellers, renters, people with contaminated soils, etc. for ideas on how to apply permaculture to their lives and grow some of their own food. We *know* that individuals and households want to play a role in their own “food security” rather than just waiting for other people to figure it all out. We are just in the planning stages, but click here to learn more and/or get involved. This event series (skill-shares, workshops, films, etc.) is expected to run from October 2011 through May of 2012.
