Maine Artisan Bread Fair, July 30

Even if you can’t make this year’s Kneading Conference, the Maine Artisan Bread Fair takes place the following Saturday, July 30th, and is free and open to the public—there’ll be live music, a tour of the new Somerset Grist Mill, and more than 70 vendors offering their wares:

2011 Maine Artisan Bread Fair
Maine Grain Alliance
Skowegan State Fairgrounds, 33 Constitution Avenue, Skowhegan, ME
Saturday, July 30, 2011
9 a.m. – 4 p.m., rain or shine
Free admission, $2 all-day parking

Last year 2500+ people took part in the Artisan Bread Fair, and this year we anticipate double that number who will come to sample delicious breads and pastries, enjoy handmade pizza baked in a wood-fired oven, buy the best books and equipment for baking at home, talk to professional bakers, listen to live music, find antique baking tools, beautiful kitchen linens, and scythes, get tips from King Arthur Flour experts about the use of their various baking flours, and eat superb Maine made foods.
