Cheesemaking at Formaggio Kitchen, August 7

If you’ve been wanting to learn how to make cheese from local milk, Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge, MA, can get you started with making butter, ricotta and yogurt:

Simple Cheesemaking
Formaggio Kitchen Annex, 67 Smith Place, Cambridge, MA
Sunday, August 7, 2011, 4 p.m.
$45 per person

It’s easy to make fresh cheese at home, and our own Jessica, who has apprenticed as a cheesemaker in France and the U.S., will show you how. Come prepared with questions as Jessica walks you through the basic processes of making butter, ricotta and yogurt. We’ll talk about finding the best milk and cream, and we’ll also discuss ways to incorporate fresh cheeses into your cooking. As always, we’ll taste what we make, and wash it down with some choice beverages.
